Before You Begin

You'll need:

  • A Salesmsg account with an active subscription
  • At least one phone number configured in Salesmsg
  • Access to your Salesmsg account to authorize Orbit AI
  • Admin access to your Orbit AI team

Setup Guide

Navigate to Salesmsg in Orbit AI

Go to the Integrations page in Orbit AI and find Salesmsg in the list of available integrations.

Authorize with Salesmsg

Click Connect with Salesmsg. You'll be redirected to Salesmsg to authorize Orbit AI. Log in to your Salesmsg account and approve the connection. You'll be redirected back to Orbit AI automatically.

Secure OAuth Connection

Orbit AI uses OAuth 2.0 to securely connect to your Salesmsg account. Your credentials are never stored. You can revoke access at any time by disconnecting the integration in Orbit AI.

Select your default phone number

Once connected, Orbit AI will load the phone numbers from your Salesmsg account. Select a default phone number to send messages from. You can override this per-step in your sequences if needed.

Team Member Mapping

You can map specific team members to specific phone numbers from the Salesmsg integration settings. When a sequence uses contact-owner-based routing, SMS messages will be sent from the owner's mapped phone number instead of the default. This ensures each rep sends messages from their own dedicated number.

You're all set! Add SMS steps to your sequences or configure SMS destinations in your workflows to start sending messages to your leads and contacts.

Using with Sequences

Sequences let you create multi-step outreach campaigns that include SMS messages. Combine emails, delays, and SMS steps to create powerful follow-up sequences.

Example Sequence:

  1. 1Day 1: Send welcome email
  2. 2Day 2: Send SMS via Salesmsg — "Hi {{first_name}}, just wanted to follow up on your inquiry."
  3. 3Day 4: Send follow-up email if no reply
  4. 4Day 7: Send final SMS via Salesmsg — "Last chance to book a demo, {{first_name}}!"

Per-Step Phone Number

Each SMS step in a sequence can use a different phone number from your Salesmsg account. If no number is specified, the default number from your integration settings will be used.

Using with Workflows

Workflows allow you to trigger SMS messages automatically when forms are submitted. Combine with AI qualification, enrichment, and conditional logic for intelligent messaging.

Example Workflow:

  1. 1.Trigger: New form submission on "Contact Sales" form
  2. 2.AI Agent: Qualify the lead based on company size and budget
  3. 3.Condition: If qualified, send SMS via Salesmsg
  4. 4.Destination: Add to CRM with lead score

Troubleshooting

Connection is not working

Try disconnecting and reconnecting your Salesmsg account. Make sure you are logged in to the correct Salesmsg account and approve the authorization request when redirected.

Messages are not being delivered

Check that the recipient phone number is in E.164 format (e.g., +14155551234). Also verify that your Salesmsg account has sufficient credits and that the phone number you're sending from is active.

I don't see any phone numbers after connecting

Ensure you have at least one phone number configured in your Salesmsg account. Go to Salesmsg → Numbers to verify. If you just added a number, try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration.

How do I change the phone number for a specific message?

In your sequence, each SMS step has a phone number selector. Click on it to choose a different number from your Salesmsg account. If left blank, the default number from your integration settings will be used.
